Verla Mae Baden was born on Sept. 2nd, 1938, in Pipestone, Minn., to Ernest and Alma (Wittrock) Hubner. She was baptized on Oct. 2, 1938, and confirmed on June 22, 1952, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pipestone. Verla grew up in Pipestone, graduating from Pipestone High School in 1956. She furthered her education by attending Mankato Commercial College in Mankato, Minn., for Business Machines and Accounting, graduating in 1957. Upon her graduation, Verla started at the First Bank in Pipestone. She was united in marriage to Glenn Dale Baden at St. Paul Lutheran Church on Oct. 30, 1965. Together they were blessed with one daughter, Kara Lee. They made their home in Pipestone for 38 years until they moved to Brandon in 2003. Verla continued her career with First Bank in Pipestone for almost 29 years before taking an early retirement. She then began working temporarily part-time for Farm Credit Services. In 1991, Verla started as the Preschool Assistant at St. Paul Lutheran Church, being devoted to this for the next 13 years.
Verla passed away peacefully at the Pipestone County Hospice at the age of 87 years, six months and 16 days.
Geraldine “Pat” L. Wehrkamp, 93, of Sioux Falls, died peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Bethany Home in Sioux Falls. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Church of St. Mary, Sioux Falls. Visitation will be from 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory, Sioux Falls, with a Liturgical Wake Service beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Geraldine “Pat” Louise Fischer was born Oct. 14, 1932, in Britton, S.D., to Lambert and Adelaide (Meyer) Fischer. She lived in Genesco, N.D., for 13 years, then moved to Watertown, where she continued her education, graduating from high school in 1950. She came to Sioux Falls and worked at John Morrell in the IBM department.
Patricia “Pat” Ann Wright, 96, died on Monday, March 16, 2026 at Avera Prince of Peace in Sioux Falls. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, March 23, 2026 at St. Lambert Catholic Church in Sioux Falls.
Karen R. Mammenga, 88, of Sioux Falls, died Sunday, March 15, 2026 at Bethany Meadows in Brandon. Her Memorial Service will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2026 at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory, Sioux Falls. Visitation will begin an hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens, Huron.

Marion A. Timm, 76 of Brandon, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Sanford Hospice Centennial Cottage in Sioux Falls. Sharon Sue Budd was born on Oct. 1, 1946, in Fort Wayne, Ind., to Robert and Helen (Mehlbrech) Budd. She grew up outside of Canistota, S.D., where she attended country school and later Canistota Public School. During her childhood, she enjoyed spending time with her horse, Lighting, and her dog, Rocky. Sharon was a member of the 4-H Club and learned many of the skills she loved – sewing, gardening, and baking – from her grandmother, Edith Mehlbrech.
