Maxine Catherine Person, 85, of Hartford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at Ava’s House Hospice in Sioux Falls.
Memorial services were held Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Christ Lutheran Church in Hartford. Interment was in the Hartford Community Cemetery.

Richard Clark Hein, 85, of Gold Canyon, A4iz., formerly of Welcome, Minn., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, after a battle with Lewy body dementia.
A Celebration of Life will begin at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, 2026, at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center – Welcome, 214 N. Dugan St., Welcome. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Marvin LeRoy Jastram, 89, of Garretson, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at his home. Friends and family are invited to a memorial visitation from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Garretson. Private family interment will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Garretson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Garretson Fire Department.
Marvin was born June 13, 1937 in Hartford, S.D., to Wilhelm and Clara (Dugley) Jastram. He enlisted in the military in September of 1954 at the age of 17. During his service, he was awarded with Good Conduct, Marksman (M-1) and Marksman (Carbine). He served overseas for one year. He was honorably discharged in September 1957.
Eleanor Louise Popkes (Metzger), 84, of Rock Rapids, Iowa, passed away Monday, July 13, 2026 at Lyon Specialty Care in Rock Rapids.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the Apostolic Christian Church in Lester, Iowa. Burial will follow in the Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery at Lester.
Marlis Marie Jones, 89, of Pipestone, Minn., died Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Good Samaritan Village in Pipestone.
Funeral services are planned for 11 a.m. Thursday, July 18, 2026, at Peace United Methodist Church, Pipestone. Visitation is from 9:30-11 a.m., also on Thursday at the church. Interment will be in the New Woodlawn Cemetery, Pipestone.
Gary Waters, 90, of Brandon, died Friday, July 17, 2026, at the VA Hospice Cottage in Sioux Falls. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.

The family will be present for a memorial Visitation from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026 at George Boom Funeral Chapel in Brandon. The memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026 also at George Boom Funeral Chapel in Brandon. Following the memorial service, the family invites all to join them for a celebration at the Brandon Golf Course.
