Esther Hazel Wrona, 86, received her angel wings on Dec. 14, 2017 in her home in Prineville, Ore., with family by her side. A service remembering her life was held Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Prineville, with internment in the Juniper Ridge Cemetery.
Esther was born Oct. 10, 1931 at the family farm house in Livona, N.D. She was the sixth of Jake and Elizabeth (Steiger) Himmerich’s children, and attended Emmons County Schools. She married Alvin DeBoer in 1949, and had two sons, Terry and Craig.
She later moved to Seattle, Wash., where she met John Wrona. They married in 1954 and settled in Bismarck, N.D., where they had a daughter, Carol. Esther worked at various retail businesses including JC Penney. She moved to Deadwood in 1976 to live near family
In 1987, she moved to Germany to live with her son, Terry and his family, where they ran a guesthouse and frequently hosted soccer players and U.S. military members stationed nearby. During this time, she travelled throughout Europe and even wrote her name on the Berlin Wall.
Graveside services for Helen I. (Ma) Budd, 95, of Canistota, were held Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017 at the Canistota Cemetery.
Mrs. Budd died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Center in Canistota.
Helen is survived by her two children, Sharon Budd, Brandon, and Robert (Judy) Budd, Sioux Falls; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.

Donald A. Thomas, 87, of Sioux Falls, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, at the Sioux Falls VA Medical Center. Graveside military honors were bestowed Saturday, Dec. 9, at Hills of Rest Cemetery.
