A new memorial is now in place in Valley Springs’ Cassady Park honoring one of its own.
The Steve Ackerman Memorial Garden was completed just in time for  Booster Days in July and welcomes park visitors.

Rene Swanson, Valley Springs, died Friday, July 21, 2017, at her home in Valley Springs. Funeral arrangements are pending with Heartland Funeral Home.

VS Commission explores drone ordinance

The buzz of drones overhead in Valley Springs may soon be regulated.

Valley Springs Mayor Carl Moss said the City Commission's July 11 discussion was prompted following concern expressed by a city resident whose neighbor has a drone.
