Funeral services for Barbara Jean Cragoe, 76, Sioux Falls, formerly Brandon, were held Monday, Oct. 21, 2019 at Heartland Funeral Home, Brandon. Interment followed at Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne, Minn.
Mrs. Cragoe died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She is survived by her husband, Ron Cragoe; children, Darci (Todd) Sharlow, Sioux Falls, Sheri Rozeboom-Kloes, Hills, Minn., and Kelly Cragoe, Springfield; four grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Keith Stoterau, Karen (Dan) Brenner, and Marvin (Carol) Stoterau, all of Sioux Falls.

Timothy Eldon VerSteeg, 49, of Brandon, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2019, as a result of complications from necrotic pancreatitis at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minn., surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, at the Hartquist Funeral Home in Luverne, Minn. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 2 p.m. at Celebrate Community Church in Brandon. Burial will be held at a later date in Maplewood Cemetery, also in Luverne.
Timothy Eldon VerSteeg was born Jan. 11, 1970 to Evan and Twila (Drost) VerSteeg in Luverne, Minn. He was raised on the family farm west of town and attended the Luverne public schools, graduating high school in 1988. He furthered his education at University of Minnesota in Waseca, Minn., and then South Dakota State University in Brookings. Following his education, Tim went to work farming for a period of time. He then became a long-distance truck driver, which later led to an opportunity to be a civilian truck driver for the United States government in Iraq and later Afghanistan.

Arnold Schmidt Jr., 84, of Brandon, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019, at Bethany Home in Brandon. Private family services will be held at a later date. George Boom Funeral Chapel in Brandon has been entrusted with arrangements.
Arnold Fredrick Schmidt Jr., son of Arnold and Gladys (Hawkins) Schmidt was born Sept. 4, 1935, in Lone Rock, Iowa. When he was a young boy the family moved to Bruce, S.D. He graduated from Volga High School in 1954. He moved to Sioux Falls in 1955 and spent the next 37 years in the Sioux Falls area. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Mae Johnson on Dec. 26, 1957, in Pipestone, Minn. Arnold worked for John Morrell and Co. for over 30 years. Throughout his working years at Morell’s and after, he farmed near Valley Springs. Arnold and Marilyn spent time in Belle Fourche and Rapid City before Marilyn’s passing in 2009. Shortly after, he moved back to Sioux Falls.
In his spare time, he loved chopping wood and running his wood-burning stove. He also had a knack for welding and craft projects, which he combined in his horseshoe art pieces.

Funeral services for April J. (Jacobson) Gustafson, 39, of Hurley, were held Friday, Oct. 18, 2019, at Spirit of Truth Lutheran Church in Brandon. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, with a sharing time at 7 p.m., at Heartland Funeral Home in Brandon.
She died suddenly and unexpectedly on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019, at her home, from unknown health problems.
April is survived by her husband, Jeff Gustafson, Hurley; mother, Alice Jacobson, Brandon; two siblings, Jason Jacobson, Sioux Falls, and Jody (Christian) Rieck, Andover, Minn.; mother-in law, Arlene (Scott) Bjorneberg, Sioux Falls; siblings-in-law, Tim (Jynna) Gustafson, Canton, and Melissa (Chris Lundgren) Gustafson, Sioux Falls.
