A Brandon Valley Area Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting is set for 11:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12 at 212º The Boiling Point, 328 S. Splitrock Blvd., Brandon. The community is invited to attend.
Coffee with the Council on Saturday
Join two members of the Brandon City Council at Kingbird Coffee, 509 N. Spolitrock Blvd., from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13.
Early Childhood Developmental Screening is Oct. 2
Brandon Valley School District will host its annual Early Childhood Development Screening from 8:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2 at Brandon Elementary. Screenings are free for all children from birth to age 5 who live in the Brandon Valley School District. The South Dakota School for the Deaf will provide hearing screenings at this same time.

Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry
Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry are canned chicken, pizza sauce and crust, mustard and ketchup, pancake mix and syrup, cake/brownie mix, peanut butter, pudding snack packs, shampoo, body wash, bar soap and laundry detergent.
To make appointments for pickups or donations, call 582-7001. The BAFP is open from 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
BBQ fundraiser at VS Legion this Thursday
The final BBQ fundraiser at the Valley Springs American Legion is Thursday, Sept. 11 at the Legion Hall. Serving is from 5-7 p.m. and a freewill offering will be taken.
Ladies Night Out Quarter Auction is Friday Night
Gather up your gal pals for a night of fun at the first ever Ladies Night Out Quarter Auction on Friday, Sept. 12 at Tailgators. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the auction fun begins at 6 p.m. The event is an endeavor of the Brandon Valley Area Chamber of Commerce.

S.D. Beard Clash returns to Bottom’s Up
The 10th annual South Dakota Beard Clash returns to Bottom’s Up in Corson on Saturday, Sept. 13. Registration opens at noon and the competition begins at 2 p.m.
