Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry

Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry are soups (vegebable, vegetable beef, chicken gumbo), Spam, cookies, bar soap, single toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, body wash.

To make appointments for pickups or donations, call 582-7001. The BAFP is open from 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Used eye glasses and hearing aids for the Brandon Lions Club may also be dropped off at the BAFP.

 

MCAP to host live taping of Fear Falls broadcast

Tickets are now available for Fear Falls Mo-Stravaganza at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6 the Corson Playhouse. Doors open at 2:30 p.m.

Hosted by the Mighty Corson Art Players, this taping of the Fear Falls broadcast in addition to a special recording of The Dave Holly Hour.

Fear Falls is a monster story radio show combining the styles of the ‘40s radio plays with the spooky vibe of the ‘80s and ‘90s thrillers, sharing atmospheric stories of all the ghouls and crawling creatures lurking under the Midwest Moon.

VS Legion BBQ fundraiser is Aug. 11

Valley Springs American Legion will be serving up its BBQ fundraiser from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11. This month’s BBQ is being held one week earlier than usual. 

 

Pillow cleaning service in Brandon Aug. 15

Brandon Lutheran WELCA has arranged to have Kraft Pillow Service in Brandon from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15 at the church, 600 E. Holly Blvd. Pillows may be brought to the main entrance of the church to be cleaned.

BLC to host Aug. 17 blood drive

Registrations are now being taken for a Red Cross Blood Drive from 12 noon-6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17 at Brandon Lutheran Church.

Chamber’s Biz Bash is on tap for Aug. 26

The Brandon Valley Area Chamber of Commerce is organizing Biz Bash from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26 in the Splitrock Square parking lot outside the Chamber office. Kidpreneurs are also invited to sell their wares from 10 a.m.-noon. The event is free and open to the public.
