Journey with the Journal

When your son invites you to tag along on an African safari, you go.
That’s the mentality that Don and Judy Limmer took when their son, Scott, who lives in Colorado, invited them to venture to Zambia, Africa. The Limmer’s departed on July 25 and returned Aug. 15. Their travels to and from Africa took 24-26 hours each way.
“Our son is a big game hunter and outfitter in Colorado,” Don informed. This was Scott’s ninth trip to Africa and his parent’s first.
On this particular day of hunting, Limmer said their group came upon two poachers (seated in front). The poachers were arrested. Also pictured with the group are, from left, back row standing, Ben, Feco, who is a professonal hunter, Scott Limmer, Judy and Don Limmer, a tracker, a game scout, who is a government employee that accompanies hunters on safari, and a tracker. Kneeling below the group is the skinner.
If you’re venturing out - whether it be near or far – remember to take your hometown newspaper along for the adventure, snap a photo and submit it for publication in an upcoming issue of the Brandon Valley Journal!
