Ward 2 City Council candidate forum
The Brandon Valley Area Chamber of Commerce and Brandon Valley Journal will host a forum for Ward 2 city council candidates, incumbent Dave Kull and challenger Megan Bassett, at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 30. The forum begins at 6:30 p.m. in the city council chambers and is open to the public. The public is also invited to submit questions in writing on the night of the forum or in advance by emailing them to editor@bvjournal.info.
 
Chamber Brew Crew is March 12
Brandon Valley Area Chamber of Commerce invites members to Brew Crew from 8-9 a.m. Friday, March 12 at Kingbird Coffee.
 
Singing Bowls and Cinnamon Rolls at Paisley Pod
The Saturday, March 13 event at The Paisley Pod in Brandon is “Singing Bowls and Cinnamon Rolls.” Beginning at 9 a.m., participants will experience the restful tones of the Himalayan singing bowls, which allow bodies, minds and spirits to unwind and relax. Following the meditation, tea and gluten-free cinnamon rolls will be served. There is a $20 per participant fee and tickets are limited. To learn more, visit the Paisley Pod instore or online.
 
Coffee with the Council
Stop by Kingbird Coffee (509 N. Splitrock Blvd.) between 9-10 a.m. Saturday, March 13 to share your ideas, concerns, etc., with a few of your city council representatives. Coffee with the Council is held once a month on the second Saturday and is organized by the Brandon Valley Area Chamber of Commerce. 
 
BVSD Parent-Teacher Conferences are March 15 and 16
Brandon Valley School District will host its second round of virtual parent-teacher conferences for the 2020-21 school year next week. Conferences for elementary and high school are planned from 3:30-9:30 p.m. Monday, March 15, and BV Intermediate and Middle Schools are set from 3:30-9:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 16. School will be dismissed at the regular time both days. Classes will be in session on Thursday, March 18 to make up a snow day, but there is no school Friday, March 19, which is a comp day for staff.
