BV Optimist Wild Game Feed is Monday

The doors open at 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13 for the 12th annual Brandon Valley Optimists’ Wild Game Feed. The event is held at 212º The Boiling Point in Brandon. Admission is $10for adults and $5 for kids. There is a $50 fee to reserve a table. The night will feature exotic dishes, raffles and more.

Proceeds from the event is filtered to fund family and youth events.

Women’s Connection meets Jan. 13

All area women are invited to the next event for Brandon Area Women’s Connection at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at a new location, Sioux Valley Energy Community Room, 108 N. Heritage Road, Brandon.  

The special feature will be Kimberly Kettermann, representing Sanford Profile with tips on healthy eating. Music will be provided by Anjelic, and the speaker is Kris Roberts with the topic, “Taking a Step Out in Trust”. 

Tickets are $8 and reservations are not required. Snacks will be provided.

BAFP’s January needs

The needs for January at the Brandon Area Food Pantry are Cup O’ Noodles, Banquet Complete Meals, Ro-tel tomatoes, beef stew, Miracle Whip, mayonnaise, hard shell taco shells. The BAFP continues to have an ample supply of canned vegetables, fruits and soups.

Before donating food items, please check expiration dates and that cans are not bulging from age and/or freezing. Monetary donations are also appreciated.

The BAFP also accepts used eye glasses and hearing aids on behalf of the Brandon Lions Club.

The BAFP is open 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 406 Main Ave. To learn more, call 605-582-7001.

 

Coffee with

the Council

Brandon Valley Area Chamber of Commerce is organizing the first “Coffee with the Council” from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18 at Kingbird Coffee, 509 N. Splitrock Blvd. A few council members will be on hand to talk with residents about ideas, concerns, etc.

 

Bingo at the VFW

Proceeds from Bingo Night at the Brandon VFW on Saturday, Jan. 25 will go to Brandon Valley’s eighth grade Washington, D.C., trip. Bingo will be played from 7-10 p.m.
