A Brandon preschool and its supporting congregation are calling on the community to collect more than 50 backpacks and school supplies for kids in need.
Michelle Ternus, director of Blessed Redeemer Lutheran Preschool, is leading the drive. Each backpack will include 2-3 spiral notebooks, one package each of pens and pencils, one pack construction paper, box of crayons, ruler, glue stick, washable markers and blunt scissors. Backpacks are also needed.
Blessed Redeemer’s “SOS” (Sharing Our Supplies) mission has received $750 in grants toward supplies and shipping costs.
Donations are accepted through April 17 at the church, 705 S. Sioux Blvd.
