Howe receives HWE scholarship
The Honored Women Educators (HWE) of South Dakota presented the Book Award Scholarship to Sarah House, a Brandon Valley High School graduate, at its annual meeting and luncheon Aug. 11 in Mitchell.
House is an elementary and special education major at Augustana University.
“I have had many great teachers throughout my education career who have left deep impacts on my life and my desire to teach,” House stated in her scholarship application. “Those teachers taught me what it means to be a passionate, encouraging, exciting and engaging teacher.”
The $500 scholarship is awarded to a female education major in the second semester of her junior year. The award helps recipients purchase books and is based on post-secondary accomplishments and financial need.
