Brandon, Valley Springs Community Library establish pickup days, times
Reserved materials from the Brandon and Valley Springs Community Libraries now have established pick-up times. In Brandon, materials may be picked up from 1-5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Fridays. Thursdays from 3-5:30 p.m. is the curbside pickup time for Valley Springs patrons.
To place holds online, visit siouxlandlib.org, or call 367 - 8700. Under the library’s current procedures, when item(s) arrive, the library patron will receive a notice via email, text, or phone with instructions. Patrons will be required to contact staff for a pickup appointment time. All pickups are to be contactless for the safety of all.
Current lawn watering restrictions
The city of Brandon is in stage 1 (green) of lawn watering restrictions. The even/odd schedules allow users with even-numbered addresses to water on even-number calendar day; users with odd-numbered address are allowed to water on odd-numbered calendar dates.
Water restriction stages and other updates are posted on the city website and Facebook pages.
May needs at the Brandon Area Food Pantry
The May needs at the BAFP include Banquet Homestyle Bakes, BBQ sauce, bagged soups (i.e. Bear Creek, Shore Lunch), bottled juices, hard taco shells, seasonings (gravy mixes, taco meat, etc.), pancake mix and syrup, chocolate chips, Rice-a-Roni, disinfectant wipes and toilet paper. We continue to have an ample supply of canned vegetables, fruits and soups.
To ensure health and well-being, shoppers and donors are no longer allowed inside the Pantry building. Instead, an assortment of pre-bagged canned foods, proteins, and paper goods (based on the size of family), are being dispersed.

The BAFP is open from 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and will maintain those hours until further notice.
The BAFP continues to accept used eye glasses and hearing aids on behalf of the Brandon Lions Club.
Grab & Go Lunches continue through June
Brandon Valley School District’s Grab & Go Lunch program, – available to all BV students under age 18 – will continue to distribute daily lunches through June from 11 a.m.-12 noon on Tuesdays only at the four distribution sites.
