BAFP’s January needs
The needs for January at the Brandon Area Food Pantry are Cup O’ Noodles, Banquet Complete, Rotel tomatoes, beef stew, Miracle Whip, mayonnaise, hard shell tacos. We continue to have an ample supply of canned vegetables, fruits and soups.
Before donating food items, please check expiration dates and that cans are not bulging from age and/or freezing. Monetary donations are also appreciated.
The BAFP is also accepting used eye glasses and hearing aids on behalf of the Brandon Lions Club.
The BAFP is open 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 406 Main Ave.

BVSD Kindergarten registration
Starting Jan. 2, Brandon Valley School District will begin accepting registrations for 2020-21 kindergarten screening process. Any family who has a child that will be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 20220, is eligible to start kindergarten next fall.
To schedule a screening appointment, call the attendance center your child will attend: Brandon Elementary, 582-6315; Fred Assam Elementary, 582-1500; Robert Bennis Elementary, 582-8010; and Valley Springs Elementary, 582-2948.
Purchase second
semester bus passes
Bus passes for the second semester of the school year at Brandon Valley are due by Jan. 10.
Passes may be purchased by mailing payment to the BVSD Transportation Department, 812 E. Redwood Blvd., Brandon, online at branodnvalleyschools.com under the Webmall button, given to student’s bus driver; or at the transportation office, which is open 6:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

Register for Early Childhood Developmental Screening
Brandon Valley School District has scheduled Early Childhood Developmental Screening from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at Brandon Elementary.
Screenings are free for all children from birth to age 4 who live in the BVSD. South Dakota School for the Deaf will provide free hearing screenings at this same time.
