Beginning Band Camp on tap

Brandon Valley’s Beginning Band Camp will be held Aug. 12-14 at Brandon Valley Intermediate School.

The schedule and locations are as follows:

BVIS Commons: 1-1:45 p.m. – percussion; 2-2:45 p.m. – tubas; 3-3:45 p.m. – baritones/

BVIS Band Room: 1-1:45 p.m. – alto/tenor saxes; 2-2:45 p.m. - clarinets; 3-3:45 p.m. – flutes.

BVIS Chorus Room: 1-1:45 p.m. – trombones; 2-2:45 p.m. – trumpets; 3-3:45 p.m. – French horns.

Students are encouraged to participate in all of the sessions. There is no fee for the camp, but students are asked to purchase and bring the required music books:

VA Show &

Shine Car Show

The Sioux Falls VA Medical Center will host their annual Show & Shine Car Show starting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14. The VA is located at 2501 W. 22nd St.

The show is open to all vehicles and motorcycles. There is no registration fee and dash plaques and trophies will be awarded.

Food will be available on site for purchase.

 

Ben Clare Pie & Ice Cream Social

Ben Clare United Methodist will host their annual pie and ice cream social from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17 at the church, 26762 Ben Clare Ave., rural Valley Springs. A full menu of pork loin sandwiches, potato salad, baked beans, beverage, pie and ice cream will be served.

A free will offering will be taken and proceeds will go to the UMW projects.

 

Circuit collects

Circuit is serving as Brandon Valley’s school supply collection headquarters. To make a difference in the life of a local child, please bring school supply donations to Circuit, 1124 E. Holly Blvd., between the hours of 5-6:30 a.m. and 2-7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8-9 a.m. Saturdays.
