Memorial Day weekend campfire and movie
Royal Family KIDS (SiouxEmpire.RoyalFamilyKIDS.org) is hosting a Memorial Day Weekend Campfire Roast and Family Movie Night at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 26 at Brandon Valley Assembly of God. Grab your lawn chairs and come as early as 6 to sit around the campfire to roast hotdogs and marshmallows followed by the showing of The CAMP Movie at 7 p.m. (www.TheCAMPMovie.com). In the case of inclement weather, the camp moves indoors.
The CAMP Movie is inspired by true stories. To impress a new client, investment advisor Ken Matthews, volunteers at a summer camp for foster kids. Paired up with a deeply troubled 10-year-old named Eli, Matthews discovers how hard it is to like, much less love, a kid who has been discarded by society. The movie is rated PG-13, and provides great talking points for families of any school-age children. To learn more, call 582-2409.
