Registration for Brandon’s 2019 swimming lessons and summer recreation opportunities are now open.

BCF encourages grant applicants, Spirit Award nominees
Brandon Community Foundation reminds 501c3 organizations to apply for BCF grant dollars that are awarded each fall at the Oak & Vine fundraiser. Brandon residents are also encouraged to submit nominations for the Community Spirit Award.

Document Shredding Event returns
Celebration United Methodist Church has scheduled a Document Shredding Event from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday, May 11 in the church parking lot, 500 N. Pasque Flower Trail. Bring your boxes of files, tax returns, bank statements and personal documents. Staples, paperclips and file folders do not need to be removed. 
Suggested donation is $5-10 per box.
 
BVHS Baccalaureate is Sunday
Baccalaureate services for Brandon Valley High School’s Class of 2019 is planned for 6 p.m. Sunday, May 12 in the BVHS Performing Arts Center. The event is organized by the BV Ministerial Association.
 
Brandon Edge Sandbox Fill
Brandon Edge’s annual sandbox fill is set for 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, May 18. Cost is $25 for the first four wheelbarrows, $5 for each additional wheelbarrow. 
 
Brandon Area Women’s Connection
Brandon Area Women’s Connection meets next at 7 p.m. Monday, May 13. Reservations are essential and should be made by calling Mary at (605) 360-2517 or emailing dmdors24@icloud.com.
