Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry are packets of instant oatmeal, small bottles of detergent (28 ounces), shampoo, fruit snacks, mustard and ketchup, baking supplies.
To make appointments for pickups or donations, call 582-7001. The BAFP is open from 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Thursday at noon is the deadline for the BV Trader and this Friday at noon is the deadline for the BV Journal.

BV Lynx sports teams on winter break
Brandon Valley High’s winter sports teams are in the midst of a short break in the action. The Lynx boys’ basketball team heads to the Hoop City Classic at the Corn Palace in Mitchell for a 3 p.m. tip-off on Saturday, Dec. 30 against Thunder Bay, Wyo. The Lady Lynx hoops team plays at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21 at Tea Area and will also play in the Hoop City Classic on Dec. 30. They’re scheduled to face Thunder Bay, Wyo. at 1:30 p.m. at the Corn Palace.
BV’s Lady Lynx wrestlers will compete Friday, Dec. 29 at the Sioux Falls Lincoln-hosted Floyd Farrand Invite and the Lynx boys will wrestle Saturday, Dec. 30 at the Floyd Farrand.
Finally, BV’s bowling teams return to the lanes at Eastway Bowl in Sioux Fall on Friday, Jan. 12 when they face the O’Gorman Knights at 3:30 p.m.
Brandon Senior Citizens
The Brandon Senior Citizens meet at 12:30 p.m. every Thursday at the VFW for Bingo, cards socializing and coffee. All seniors are welcome.
Al-Anon meetings in Brandon
Al-Anon meets from 7:30-8:30 p.m. every Tuesday at Brandon Lutheran Church, 600 E. Holly Blvd.
Ed Polzine Wild Game Feed seeks donations
The Ed Polzine Wild Game Feed committee is seeking donations for its annual event on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024. The committee welcomes donations of wild game and items for silent and live auctions and raffle prizes.
