Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry are pizza sauce, Side Dishes (rice and noodles), cookie mixes, PopTarts, bagged beans, microwave popcorn, saltine crackers, snack crackers.
To make appointments for pickups or donations, call 582-7001. The BAFP is open from 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Community Blood Drive this Friday
First National Bank of Brandon, 101 S. Splitrock Blvd., will host a blood drive from 8-11 a.m. and 12 noon-2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6. Donors can schedule an appointment online at cbblifeblood.org, selecting Oct. 6 or call 605-331-3222. Walk-ins are welcome, appointments are preferred.

Department Pancake Breakfast is Sunday
Mark your calendar for Sunday, Oct. 8, as the Brandon Fire Department hosts its annual Pancake Breakfast! Breakfast will be served from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Brandon Fire Hall.
History of Brandon Schools is topic of
Sunday’s talk
The Brandon Historical Society will give a presentation on the history of Brandon Schools at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8 in the Community Room at Brandon Valley High School. The event is free and open to the public.
Civil War technology topic of October
Military History Night
Kristi Beck will give a presentation on Civil War Technology and Innovations for October’s Military History Night at the American Legion in Valley Springs. Beck’s talk beginning at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15 kicks off the 10th year of Military History Night. As always, there is no cost and refreshments will be served.
Free adult kickboxing classes offered
Circuit Fitness, 1124 E. Holly Blvd., is offering free kickboxing classes for adults every Saturday. Classes are 8-8:45 a.m. and participants are encouraged to bring water.

Storytimes at the Brandon Library
Storytime for youngsters has returned to the Brandon Community Library. All programs begin at 10 a.m.
Toddler Storytime is offered on Tuesdays now through Nov. 14; Preschool Storytime now through Nov. 15 on Wednesdays; and Family Storytime (special events) is this Saturday, Oct. 7.
