Monthly meetings at the Brandon VFW
Three military service-related organizations – Three Rivers VFW Post 4726, the VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 318 – all meet monthly at the Brandon VFW, 321 S. Main St.
The VFW Auxiliary meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month. The VFW Post meetings start at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month, and the Legion Auxiliary meets at 7 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of the month.
FNB to host Oct. 6
Blood Drive
First National Bank of Brandon, 101 S. Splitrock Blvd., will host a blood drive from 8-11 a.m. and 12 noon-2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6. Donors can schedule an appointment online at cbblifeblood.org, selecting Oct. 6 or call 605-331-3222. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred. All donors will receive a $10 Scooters gift card.
Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with a signed parent consent form found at cbblifeblood.org), weigh 110 pounds or more and be in good general health the day of the donation.
Donors will need to present an I.D. and should eat and drink plenty of fluid prior to donating. Blood donations may be made every 56 days.
Brandon Fire
Department Pancake Breakfast is Oct. 8
Mark your calendar for Sunday, Oct. 8, as the Brandon Fire Department hosts its annual Pancake Breakfast from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Brandon Fire Hall.
AWANA Club meets Wednesdays
AWANA meets each Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Brandon Valley Baptist Church, 400 N. Splitrock Blvd. AWANA is a weekly, non-denominational Christian club for children from 3-years-old through eighth grade. It is free to join and scholarships are available to cover the cost of books and uniforms. A free meal is served at 6 p.m., and AWANA at 6:30 p.m.
Free adult kickboxing classes offered
Circuit Fitness, 1124 E. Holly Blvd., is offering free kickboxing classes for adults every Saturday. Classes are 8-8:45 a.m.

Storytimes at Brandon Community Library
Storytimes at the Brandon Community Library all begin at 10 a.m.
Toddler Storytime is offered on Tuesdays now through Nov. 14; Preschool Storytime continues through Nov. 15 on Wednesdays.
