Valley Springs Legion to serve up BBQ supper this Friday
Valley Springs American Legion will be serving up its BBQ fundraiser from 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 16. Grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, barbeque sandwiches, calico beans, chips, coleslaw, and drinks are on the menu. A freewill donation will be accepted. All profits will be used to support remodeling costs.
The Upper Room to host former Minnesota Vikings meet & greet Saturday
Former Minnesota Vikings – quarterback Tommy Kramer and linebacker Ed McDaniels – will be at The Upper Room (202 S. Splitrock Blvd.) from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, June 17 for a fan meet and greet. The event also includes an assortment of craft brews, pizza and wings live music from 6-9 p.m. and inflatables for the kids.
Bedtime Blessings is Saturday at McHardy Park
Sure Foundation Lutheran Church invites the public to ‘Bedtime Blessings’ beginning at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 17. This half-hour event takes place at McHardy Park in Brandon, and will include bedtime stories, songs, and snacks. The first 50 families will receive a free book. Parents are encouraged to bring their kids in pajamas to enjoy a nice evening in the park before going home and tucking their tikes in.

Clean-up Holly Boulevard June 21
Join Brandon’s Water Conservation Committee in cleaning up litter starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 21. Litter will be picked up between Sioux Boulevard and Six Mile Road. Volunteers should meet in the Sioux Valley Energy parking lot to receive safety vests and trash bags. Gloves will also be provided, but bring your own, if preferred.
Each person who volunteers will be entered into a rain barrel drawing.

Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry
Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry are egg noodles, Spam, Dinty Moore Beef Stew, pancake syrup and mix, mustard, ketchup, Suddenly Salads, Rice-a-Roni mixes, bottled juices.
To make appointments for pickups or donations, call 582-7001. The BAFP is open from 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
