Valley Springs Easter Egg Hunt is Saturday

The Valley Springs Community Club Easter Egg Hunt will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 8 on the grounds of Valley Springs Elementary. The event is for kids preschool through fifth grade.

For photo opportunities, the Easter Bunny will also make an appearance at the Hunt.

 

Easter Carnival at the Big Red Barn

For the fourth year, an Easter Carnival will be held at 48148 258th St., Brandon, from 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturday, April 8. The event offers carnival games for kids, photos with the Easter bunny, along with an Easter Goodie Bag Hunt. The cost is $10 per child ages 2-10. This is a no-candy carnival. All prizes are a small toy or other surprises.

 

VFW collects

donations for Loyalty Day Parade

The Brandon VFW is collecting donations of money and bicycles to give away following the annual Loyalty Day Parade on Sunday, May 7.

April needs at the Brandon Food Pantry

This month’s needs at the Brandon Food Pantry are cookies, small jars of peanut butter, jelly, jam, Suddenly Salads, brownie and cake mixes, small bags of flour, shampoo and Kleenex.

To make appointments for pickups or donations, call 582-7001. The BAFP is open from 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Used eye glasses and hearing aids for the Brandon Lions Club may also be dropped off at the BAFP.

 

Loyalty Day Parade planning meetings

The next scheduled planning meetings for Brandon’s annual Loyalty Day Parade are set for 7 p.m. Wednesdays, April 12, 19 and 26. All meetings are held at the Brandon VFW.

 

VFW Auxiliary bake sale is April 14

Brandon’s VFW Auxiliary bake sale begins at 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 14 at the Post Home. This will be the last bake sale until fall.

 

Next Soup Supper is April 14

The Valley Springs American Legion will host its monthly Soup Super Fundraiser on Friday, April 14. Serving is from 5-6:30 p.m. The menu includes chili, bean and cheeseburger soups, cornbread muffins, chips, hotdogs, drinks and condiments. A free will offering will be accepted, and proceeds will go to the floor project at the Legion Hall.
