VS Legion Soup

Supper is April 22

The Charles R. Doman American Legion Post will host a soup supper from 5-6:30 p.m. Friday, April 22 at the Legion Hall. On the menu are chili, bean soup, Mindy’s broccoli cheese soup hot dogs, chips, corn bread and drinks.

 

Arise With the Guys

is April 23

Arise With the Guys, an annual men’s-only event where professional and collegiate athletes share inspirational messages of faith, Godly values and legacy building, will be offered in Brandon this year. The event begins at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, April 23 at Brandon Valley Assembly of God Church, 201 Sioux Blvd. The event is free and will feature former Super Bowl coach and NFL Hall of Famer Tony Dungy interviewing former Pittsburg Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. There will also be interviews by Brian Hansen and Brandon Valley athletes.

Pancake Breakfast is April 24

American Legion Post 318’s annual Pancake Breakfast will be served from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Sunday, April 24 at the Brandon VFW. A free will offering will be accepted. Proceeds will got to the Gold Star Family Monument. 

 

‘Airfield Management’ is topic of April’s

military history program

The April military history program will focus on the topic, “Airfield Management in a Contingency Environment.” Held at the Charles R. Doman American Legion Post in Valley Springs, the program begins at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, April 24.

As always, the program is free and open to the public, and refreshments and discussion will follow the program.

 

BVFD schedules Dueling Duo for two nights

The spring fundraiser for the Brandon Volunteer Fire Department – Dueling Duo – is set for Friday and Saturday, April 29 and 30 at the Holiday Inn Express in Brandon. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8.

Celebration shredding event returns

Celebration United Methodist Church, 500 N. Pasque Flower Trail, Brandon, will once again host a document shredding event from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 7. A donation of $5-10 per box donation is suggested. Staples, paperclips and folders need not be removed.
