Stephen “Steve” Baete, 83

Stephen “Steve” A. Baete, 83, of Sioux Falls, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2026.  

A visitation was held Friday, Aug. 14, 2026, at Miller Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service with military honors at the South Dakota Veterans Cemetery beginning.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Laura Baete of Sioux Falls; his children, Marty Baete of Canoga Park, Calif., Scott (Marilene) Baete of Sioux Falls, Kelli (Travis) Lemke of Chanhassen, inn., Kristie (Thomas) Trimarco of Bow, N.H., Michael (Suzy) Durband of Oxford, Pa., Matthew (Heidi) Durband of Hartford, and Molly (Phillip) Joseph of Brandon; nine grandchildren, Emma, Sarah, Peyton, Ellen, Griffin, Mary Katherine, Grace, Christopher, and Addison; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Karen (Jerry) Weires of Omaha, Neb., and Gregory (Debbie) Baete of Harrisburg; and many nieces and nephews.
