Sorenson begins internship with Journal

Anna Sorenson is the new summer intern for the Brandon Valley Journal.

She graduated from Brandon Valley High School in 2017 and will be a senior at Augustana University this fall. Sorenson is studying English and journalism with plans to attend grad school and eventually work in editing or publishing.

This past year, Sorenson served as the copy editor for Augustana’s newspaper, the Mirror, and next year, she will be the Mirror’s opinion page editor. Besides editing for the Mirror, she wrote a variety of stories ranging from sports to opinion to news.

Sorenson also plays the violin in the Augustana Orchestra and is involved with AugieGreen, an on-campus organization focused on improving sustainability at Augustana.

In her free time, she loves to read, hike and do crossword puzzles. She’s excited for the summer ahead and the learning opportunities it will bring.

Sorenson believes local journalism is important and can’t wait to be back in her hometown, reporting on a great community.
