Rief, Lindquist cash in on oral interp talents

Two of Brandon Valley’s most well-spoken students – Olaf Lindquist and Bella Rief – came away from the BV Optimist Club-sponsored oral interp contest with money in the bank. Rief was awarded first place and the $300 scholarship, and Lindquist received second place and $200 in scholarship money. The next step is the Zone competition (if there are enough contestants), and if not, Rief will advance to the District level in May. Both Rief and Lindquist are coached by Gina Koehn, “who’s been invaluable to the success of the many students who’ve been sponsored by our club,” shared BV Optimist Jeremy Risty (center), who is pictured with the winners.
