Lynx football ‘Scout Players of the Week’

This week, Lynx football players recognized as “Scouts of the Week” are Burke Weber, Lake Terveer, Isaiah Campbell, Matt Johnson, Caden Johnson and Isaac Rodriguez. Defensive coach Matt Christensen describes these athletes as “the best practice players of the week.”

 

Correction

Brandon Valley seventh-grader Kellen Olson led the Lynx JV boys’ golf team at the Lynx Invitational. Kellen carded a 63 to claim fifth place in the 33-golfer event.

The BV Journal regrets the error. 

 

Splitrock Ladies League results

The Splitrock Ladies bowled Oct. 3, with the following results: High Team Game - Alliance Communications, 878; High Team Series - JSA Engineers/Land Surveyors, 2,467; High Individual Game - Marcia Bork, 200; High Individual Series - Bonnie Kramer, 559.

Devona Engebretson picked up the 4-7 split, and Elaine Benson picked up the 4-5 split.

 

BV softball caps off regular season with wins

Brandon Valley wrapped up regular season play Oct. 3, snagging a late lead to defeat the Washington Warriors 7-5. 

Mya Bunker opened up scoring in the first inning on a double, driving in two runs. The Warriors answered with three runs.

Knotted at 5-5 in the top of the fifth, Bunker tripled on the first pitch of the at-bat to give the Lynx the go-ahead runs.

Grace Bowar and Gracie Adams also collected two hits for the BV, and pitcher Jeniah Johnson earned the win. 

BV 6, Harrisburg 4

The Lynx got out to a five-run lead in the third inning and held on for a 6-4 victory over the Harrisburg Tigers Oct. 2.

BV scored in the first inning when Bunker tripled to knock in three runs. 

Emily Moschell led the Lynx with two hits in three at-bats.

Bunker earned the win on the mound. She allowed two hits and one run over two innings, striking out one and walking zero. Kendra Kuehn and Johnson entered from the bullpen to close out the game in relief.
