Summit League announces Championship dates for 2025-26

Summit League officials have revealed the 2025-26 championship schedules. Eleven of the championships will take place on a variety of the League’s campuses, while the men’s and women’s basketball tournaments will return to the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls, the men’s and women’s golf championships will be played in Mesa, Ariz., the men’s and women’s swimming and diving championships will be held in Iowa City, Iowa, and the men’s and women’s tennis championships will be held in Tulsa, Okla. 

The championship slate begins in Omaha, Neb., as the University of Nebraska at Omaha will  host the cross country races on Nov. 1. St. Thomas will bring the league’s championship schedule to a close on May 20-23 by hosting the baseball championship in Saint Paul, Minn. 
The remainder of the fall championship schedule includes women’s soccer, which will consist of six teams and be played over the course of two weekends. The No. 3 and No. 4 seeds will host quarterfinal matchups on Saturday, Nov. 1 or Sunday, Nov.2. The following week those match winners will face the top two seeds in semifinals on Thursday, Nov. 6. The 2025 championship match is slated for Sunday, Nov. 9.
The men’s soccer championship will feature the top four teams in the standings. The No. 1 seed and No.2 seed will host semifinal matchups on Nov. 8. The highest remaining seed from the two winners will then host the championship match on Nov. 15.  The volleyball championship is being hosted by South Dakota State for the first time from Nov. 23-25 at the First Bank & Trust Arena in Brookings.
The swimming and diving championships head to Iowa City and will be the first championship of 2026 as those will be held Feb. 18-21 on the campus of the University of Iowa. Both track and field championships are taking place in North Dakota this year, starting off with the indoor event Feb. 27-28 in Grand Forks, N.D. at the Frederick “Fritz” D. Pollard Jr. Athletic Center. The outdoor track and field championships will be hosted in Fargo, N.D., at the Terrence Dahl and Donna Beres Track Complex May 14-16.
The men’s and women’s basketball championships return to their familiar home at the PREMIER Center for the 11th time. The 2026 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships will feature all nine members and will cover five days on the calendar, starting March 4 and culminating with the respective title games on Sunday, March 8.
The men’s and women’s tennis championships will be heading to the University of Tulsa in Tulsa, Okla. The competition will be April 23-25 at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. The men’s and women’s golf championships are heading to Arizona where those will be played at the Longbow Golf Course. The women’s event is slated for April 26-28, while the men will follow on May 3-5.
St. Thomas will host the softball championship for the first time at South Field May 6-9.
