Forthcoming elementary timeline is defined
Construction planning for the new east-side Brandon elementary school has resumed. The Brandon Valley School District will be utilizing capital outlay certificates to fund the project, which yields no additional tax burden on our taxpayers. This financing approach is available due to many years of extremely sound fiscal management of district debt. In accordance with policy, the naming committee will be working through a name selection process in the near future. The anticipated timeline for the new east-side Brandon elementary is as follows:
• July 8, 2024 – Release Bid Specifications
• Aug. 8, 2024 – Open Bids
• Aug. 12, 2024 – Award Bid
• June 26, 2026 – Project Completion
• Open the Fall of 2026 (2026-27 School Year)
Along with the planning for our new elementary school facility, we have many smaller building maintenance projects taking place this summer. Please stay out of construction areas and obey all safety signage. We appreciate your attention to these safety precautions.
