BVSD gains second Bennis mural
Brandon-born artist Chuck Bennis recently created his second mural for the school district at Brandon Elementary, where he himself was a student. Bennis helped introduce the mural to the student body last week on the second-to-last day of school. The mural showcases several types of art – painting, photography, writing, dancing and playing music. “It’s a celebration of the arts and being creative,” said Bennis, who urged students to follow their own artistic dreams “as a kid who had no idea drawing on walls and drawing silly was a career option.” Bennis created his first mural for the Brandon Valley School District in 2018 at Robert Bennis Elementary, which was named after his grandfather.
