BV celebrates hard work, dedication of school lunch professionals
Meeting the foundational needs of our children is critical to student learning and development. In each of our buildings, the Brandon Valley School District operates a school kitchen offering breakfast and lunch. The eight kitchens prepare and serve over 4,000 nutritious meals per day to our students. BV is proud to celebrate our tremendous staff of school lunch professionals during School Lunch Hero Week.
It takes everyone within our organization to promote student learning. Child Nutrition Services staff play a vital role in student success. Research demonstrates that school nutrition programs positively affect student learning, benefit student health through improved dietary intake, and reduce food insecurity for children receiving free meals. Further, Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs clearly demonstrates that the physiological need of food is critical to mental development, learning, and self-actualization. Simply put, hungry kids cannot learn.
A special thank you to Director Kruse and our Child Nutrition Ssaff for their work and commitment to excellence in food service. Our Brandon Valley Child Nutrition staff’s daily efforts fuel classroom success.
Speaking of success, a GIANT SHOUT-OUT to the cast, crew, and directors of the spring musical, Beauty and the Beast. What an incredibly captivating show. From dynamic sets to skillful acting, our Lynx brought the fairy tale to life. Bravo!
