Anytime Fitness Brandon, a beacon of community engagement and commitment to service, has been crowned the Community Outreach Club of the Year by Anytime Fitness, a distinction awarded to only one club nationwide. This prestigious honor is awarded to the club that has demonstrated exceptional dedication to community service, volunteer efforts, fundraising, and local involvement. Anytime Fitness Brandon emerged victorious among 5,500 clubs across the nation, making this recognition a testament to their outstanding contributions.

This coveted award recognizes the relentless efforts of Anytime Fitness Brandon in fostering a strong sense of community, promoting health and wellness, and actively participating in the betterment of the local area. The club’s initiatives, ranging from community service projects to volunteer efforts and fundraising activities, have left an indelible mark on Brandon.

The award ceremony took place at the Anytime Fitness National Conference earlier this month. This recognition not only highlights the club’s commitment to community service but also underscores the positive impact that local businesses can have on the communities they serve.

“Receiving the Community Outreach Club of the Year Award is an immense honor for Anytime Fitness Brandon. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, the support of our incredible members, and the vibrant community spirit in Brandon,” said Jayme Smid, owner of Anytime Fitness Brandon. “We are thrilled to have our efforts recognized at a national level, and this award motivates us to continue making a positive difference in the lives of those we serve.”

Anytime Fitness Brandon has championed a number of community outreach events and causes. For starters, Miles for Mutts has raised thousands of dollars for the event’s recipient, B Squad Dog Rescue. It’s the largest fundraising event Anytime Fitness Brandon carries out each year.

“We do a community service outreach effort every month through our GIVING AF program,” Smid said, with each month focusing on a different charity/group.”

Last month, they took part in the Chamber-organized Rake the Town, and currently taking place is a food drive for the Brandon Food Pantry. Their focus in December is the BV Optimist Community Christmas Tree, for which the Club is a host site.

Anytime Fitness Brandon has been a staple in the town’s Loyalty Day Parade, and have staged a number of community workouts at various locations, including Oakridge Nursery (Yoga in the Greenhouse), at local parks and Wilde Prairie Winery.

“These events are for the public and a great way to bring the workout outside of our four walls,” Smid shared.

Brandon’s Anytime Fitness club has partnered with the BV Special Olympics program by offering employment and gym membership/training programs, in addition to offering a Student Strive program year-round. This program helps local youth stay active and learn how to correctly use the fitness equipment.

“Partnerships with local businesses are important to us and we’ve been fortunate to form connections with several great businesses in Brandon to do various events and fundraisers,” Smid said.

Anytime Fitness Brandon has also been recognized locally for their community spirit. Among the accolades are the Brandon Business of the Year award, “which really brought awareness to our club,” Smid said, and the Modern Woodman Hometown Hero award.
