A ‘souper’ food drive for a ‘super’ cause

Brandon Elementary student council members (L-R) Olivia Olsen, Keaton Henle, Jaxson Bos, Caden Vanden Hul, Lauren Johnson, Sawyer Winters, Ellyse Pantekoek and third grade teacher Matt Gappa organized the school’s annual “Souper Bowl” food drive for the Brandon Area Food Pantry. the drive filled five tables with donations. For one week, the student council focused on a different food item each day and Gappa said that this year’s drive was a lot better than most years, even with the pandemic. “This is something we thought would be great for the BAFP,” Gappa said. “It’s a great thing for the kids to be a part of.”
