Brandon Lutheran Family Fest & BBQ

Brandon Lutheran Church invites the community to its annual BLC Family Fest & BBQ from 4:4;30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 5. Worship and the Vacation Bible School program begins at 6:15 p.m. Bingo, inflatable games and more will be set up. There is a charge for meals: BBQ pulled pork, walking tacos or hot dogs. Family Treats Ice Cream truck will also be on site.

 

VS Legion gathering worn, tired flags

All worn and tired flags may be dropped off at the Valley Springs American Legion Hall. Legionnaires will property dispose of these flags during a flag retirement ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday, June 14 on the eastside of Legion Community Park.

 

SVE annual meeting is June 11

Brandon Valley High School will be the host site of Sioux Valley Energy’s annual meeting on Tuesday, June 11.

The meal will be served from 5-7 p.m., followed by bingo from 5:30-6:15 p.m. and musical entertainment by The Lost Keys from 6:15-6:50 p.m. The 7-8 p.m. annual meeting wraps up the event.

Annual meetings will also be held that same day and time in Pipestone, Minn., and Volga.

Litter Clean Up along Holly Blvd.

Put Saturday, June 29 on your calendar, as it’s the day for the Adopt-a-Highway Litter Clean Up along Holly Boulevard. The event is from 10 a.m.-noon and participants should meet in the Sioux Valley Energy parking lot. Safety vests, trash bags and gloves will be provided, but bring your own is encouraged.

Register for Brandon’s new mass

notification system

Register for mass notifications on general alerts from the city, including snow, lawn watering, etc.), pool, elections, summer rec, Core and Rushmore projects. Residents may specify which notifications they want to receive.

The system code may take a few minutes to be sent to individual’s inbox, so city advises to wait for the code before asking it to resend. 

This notification system replaces the city’s previous texting program.
