Odds of going pro are slim for South Dakota athletes

The odds of a South Dakota athlete going pro in any one of nine different sports are pretty slim.

Gambling.com researched the of odds in a range of sports, including the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHS, soccer, golf, boxing, tennis and the Olympics. They compared the total number of current pros that there are from each state to the respective 2023 male birth rate.

The research revealed that in South Dakota, the odds of going pro in the analyzed sports are as follows:
