July 7 is pet vaccination clinic in Valley Springs

The City of Valley Springs’ annual pet vaccination clinic is scheduled from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 7 at the city maintenance shop at 308 Broadway Ave. Vaccinations will be administered by Rock Veterinary Clinic. Annual city pet licenses may also be purchased at that time.

 

Minnehaha County Commission meetings move to Carnegie Hall

The Minnehaha County Commission will hold their June 21, 28, and July 5 meetings at Carnegie Hall, 235 W. 10th St. Sioux Falls.

These meetings will be uploaded to the County YouTube page for viewing. The meeting will be available to stream from the //siouxfalls.org/meetings webpage. All meeting materials will be available on the County website.

This temporary relocation will allow construction crews to begin renovating the existing chambers into additional office space and to finalize the new Commission Chambers. The new chambers will be located on the third floor of the Administration building. Meetings are anticipated to resume in the new chambers on July 19. Any schedule changes affecting meeting locations will be publicized. 

 

Brandon Pool now open for the season

Hours for the Brandon Pool are as follows: Daily open swim is 1-4:50 p.m. and 6:30-8:50 p.m. Family swim time is from 5-6:20 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Lap swim is from 5-5:45 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and water aerobics is offered from 5:45-6:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

June needs at the BAFP

June needs at the Brandon Area Food Pantry are canned carrots, beef stew, pickle relish, Snack Pack pudding, graham crackers, salad dressings (French, Ranch, etc.), Suddenly Salad, dog and cat food.

Pantry clients must be vaccinated and wear a mask to shop the Pantry. If not vaccinated, clients will receive items that have been pre-bagged by BAFP volunteers.

To make appointments for either pickups or donations, call 582-7001. The BAFP is open from 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

BAFP executive director Linda Weber asks groups that conduct food drives to contact the Pantry prior to dropping off donations.
