donations for Loyalty Day Parade festivities

The Brandon VFW is collecting donations of money and bicycles to give away for the annual Loyalty Day Parade on Sunday, May 7.

25-cent Royal Even

 is Saturday

Royal Family Kids Camp is staging a 35-cent Royal Event from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 1 at Brandon Valley Assembly of God Church in Brandon.

Participants, upon arrival will receive a numbered paddle. Auction items will be on display with a bid price of 1, 2, 3 or 4 quarters. As the items are presented, bids may be made by placing quarters in the bowl provided at tables. Those who choose to bid will hold their paddle in the air. The auctioneer will pick a paddle number, and if your paddle is on the bid, you will win the item. If you did not bid on the item, a chorus of boos will come your way.

Doors open at 9 a.m. and food and drinks will be available for purchase. The cost for the first paddle is $10 and $5 for additional paddles, or $50 for golden paddles.

March needs at the Brandon Food Pantry

This month’s needs at the Brandon Food Pantry are jelly, jam, mustard, ketchup, brownie and cookie mixes, boxed Jello and pudding, dish detergent, Kleenex.

To make appointments for either pickups or donations, call 582-7001. The BAFP is open from 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Storytime planned for Valley Springs Library
Family Storytime is scheduled to be held at the Valley Springs Branch Library at 10 a.m. Friday, March 31. Family Storytime is for children birth to 5 and their caregivers. To learn more, contact Jan, the storyteller, at 582-2390.

 

Toddler, Preschool Storytime resumes at Brandon Library

Toddler Storytime and Preschool Storytime have returned to the Brandon Community Library. Toddler Storytime is held from 10-10:25 a.m. Tuesdays now through May 4. This program is for 2-year-olds and their caregiver.

Preschool Storytime is held from 10-10:30 a.m. Wednesdays starting now through May 10. This program is for ages 3-5.
