BCF Oak & Vine is Oct. 28

Join the Brandon Community Foundation in celebration at the annual Oak & Vine from 7-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28 at the Holiday Inn in Brandon.

Tickets are $40 per person or $400 for a table of 10. To  purchase tickets or make a donation to the Brandon Community Foundation, visit brandoncf.org. 

The BCF was established in 2006 and to date has shared more than $315,000 in community grants. This year, 20 non-profit organizations will share in more than $55,000 of grant funding. The 2022 Brandon Spirit Award winners – Randy and Lisa Marso – will also be recognized.

Joe Kippley, a candidate for Minnehaha County Commission, will host a “meet & greet” from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 at Sunshine Foods in Brandon.

 

Viaflex to host ‘Beers & Careers’ 

Viaflex will host a “Beers and Careers” event at Bottom’s Up in Corson from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25.

 

BVHS seniors can

apply free for FAFSA

Brandon Valley High School seniors planning to attend college may apply free for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Some college applications and scholarships require students to complete the FAFSA. To complete the application, visit https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa.

Bethany puts out call for donations of

Halloween candy

Bethany Home in Brandon is accepting donations of candy for the residents to hand out to trick-or-treaters on Halloween. To do so, contact Amber Broomfield or Jim Erickson at Bethany Home in Brandon or call (605) 582-8622.

 

October needs at the Brandon Food Pantry

This month’s needs at the Brandon Food Pantry are cereal, granola bars, instant oatmeal, pancake mix, syrup, mustard, ketchup, relish, mayonnaise, pickles, BBQ sauce, oatmeal, body wash, dish soap, Styrofoam plates (40 count) and dog and cat food.

The BAFP is open from 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. To learn more, call 582-7001.

 

Split Rock Lutheran Fall Festival is Oct. 22

The Split Rock Lutheran (48295 285th St., rural Brandon) Fall Festival is from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22.

Homemade baked goods, breads, cookies, jams and jellies will be available for purchase
