Supe's On: Together, we can promote public health

Dr. Jarod Larson, BVSD superintendent
First, we appreciate our communities understanding as we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. The Brandon Valley School District has taken and will continue to take appropriate action steps to reduce the spread of illness and maintain school functions and district operations during this time.
This is an emerging and rapidly evolving situation. The best source of up-to-date Brandon Valley School District information is on our COVID-19 Information website. The link to our COVID-19 Information website can be found on the school district homepage:
While closely monitoring COVID-19, we will follow the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and work collaboratively with the South Dakota Department of Health, local healthcare providers, and Minnehaha County Emergency Management in our strategic efforts to address this public health concern.
Preventative measures are critical to reducing the spread of respiratory illness. It is essential that our students, staff, parents, and community exercise best practices in appropriate preventative measures.
Preventative measures for the spread of respiratory illness include:
• Frequent hand washing with soap and water for approximately 20 seconds;
• Use of an alcohol-based hand sanitizer;
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth;
• Covering coughs or sneezes with a tissue;
• Stay home when sick;
Together, we can promote public health. Go Lynx!
