Supe's On: Thank you, BV families for a great school year

By:
Dr. Jarod Larson, Superintendent of Brandon Valley School District

Thank you, BV Families, for a great 2022-23 school year. Without your support of our schools and your children’s education, we could not achieve our Core Operating Principal and create learning environments that result in success. Thank you for making student learning a priority this past school year!

Calling all Lynx! Do not catch a ride down the “summer slide” – KEEP READING! We are challenging all our students to read during the summer break. Join us for the Siouxland Libraries Summer Reading program and find other ways for your child to engage in leisure summer reading.

Strategies for

Families to Encourage Summer Reading

• Take frequent trips to the library

• Create reading challenges

• Dive into a multi-book series

• Join the Summer Reading program

We would like to thank Siouxland Libraries and Pizza Ranch of Brandon for their collaboration on our Summer Reading program. Their sponsorship of the summer reading program supports our efforts to produce proficient readers. Parents and guardians can help their child avoid the “summer slide” by encouraging their child to read and by modeling the importance of reading.

Together, we can minimize summer learning loss and promote reading proficiency.

Go Lynx!
