Supe's On: A nod to Nat'l School Counseling Week

By:
Dr. Jarod Larson, BVSD superintendent
The first full week of February served as National School Counseling Week. School counselors are vital members of our education team. Counselors provide valuable services to students in the areas of academic planning, social skills development, emotional health, career exploration, and post-secondary readiness.
Playing an intricate role in the guidance of our youth, school counselors positively influence our future leaders and promote success in all children. National School Counseling Week provided schools with an opportunity to celebrate school counselors and the tremendous impact they have on helping students achieve academic and social success.
To our BV school counselors and school counselors all across the country, thank you for your valuable and meaningful work with students!
Although Groundhog Phil has predicted an early spring, it is essential that winter weather safety precautions be taken for the remainder of the winter season. Whether riding the bus, driving, or walking to school, dressing for the cold weather is critical. Please, reinforce the importance of appropriate winter dress and safe winter driving practices with your child.
Lastly, a quick reminder that there is no school on Friday, Feb. 14 or Monday, Feb. 17.
