Supe's On: Kindergarten screening for 2020-21 on the horizon

By:
Dr. Jarod Larson, BVSD superintendent
As the holiday season approaches, we can reflect on the outstanding 2019 we have had at Brandon Valley. There is much to be proud of as we reflect on this past year, but there is always work to be done as we continually strive for growth and improvement within our schools.
The winter break begins with a two-hour early dismissal on Friday, Dec. 20 and classes resume Thursday, Jan. 2.
With 2020 on the horizon, for some families it is time to start thinking about sending a child to kindergarten or junior kindergarten for the 2020-21 school year. Our elementary school buildings will host kindergarten screening in the coming months for the next school year. If you have a child that will be age eligible and entering kindergarten next year, we strongly encourage your participation in kindergarten screening. If you have questions on kindergarten screening, feel free to reach out to any of our elementary buildings.
Lastly, the deadline for second semester bus pass purchases is quickly approaching. Bus passes may be purchased online at the Webmall or at the transportation facility.
From my family to yours, we wish you a safe and happy holiday season!
