The Marching Lynx landed a trio of top placings at the 28th annual Rosemount (Minn.) Marching Band Festival, and director Chris Borchardt describes Saturday’s feat as “their strongest show of the season.”
“We are starting to understand what it takes to become a premier program and will continue to push ourselves to reach new heights,” Borchardt said.
The Marching Lynx, which captured first place, also garnered top laurels for Best Drum Majors, Best Color Guard and Best Percussion.
Grand Rapid, Minn., which claimed the Best Winds honor, was second. Third and fourth place went to Waseca, Minn., and Brookings, respectively, and Sioux Falls Washington was fifth.
This week, the band heads to Marshall, Minn., to compete against new competition including Sioux Falls Lincoln and Roosevelt, and Orange City, Iowa.
