Inside City Hall: Golf course staff gearing up to make 2020 a great season

By:
Andrew Bauer, Brandon Municipal Golf Course
The Brandon Golf Course will continue to be managed by the city for the 2020 season. All current staff will be back including banquet and lounge manager, Kerry Thill, superintendent, Kelly Eilers, and I (Andrew Bauer) will be moving from assistant golf professional into the head golf professional role.
I’m sure there will be many familiar faces returning in their roles for part-time and seasonal positions as well.  We will continue to strive to provide the citizens of Brandon and the surrounding area something to take pride in when it comes to their hometown golf course.
Things we are doing to enhance the Brandon Golf Course for next year include a new rental cart fleet as well as a new point of sales system and website. After 10 years we are upgrading our current gas cart fleet to lithium ion battery-powered electric carts from EZ-Go. The 2020 models will provide a quiet ride, fold down windshields, USB ports and sand bottles so the golf cart experience will match the quality of the golf course itself.
Our new point of sales system and website will improve our online tee time system, allow players to sign up and pay for tournaments online and give us, as a staff, an improved system to manage the golf course, providing a better customer experience. Season passes for 2020 are available for purchase now, get ahead of the game and buy before the end of December to receive 15 percent off any golf season pass or cart leases.  This deal will only be offered until the end of the year so don’t miss your opportunity to save now and golf an unlimited number of rounds next year at an incredible 18-hole golf facility.
All of us at the Brandon Golf Course are looking forward to what we hope will be an early spring and successful year that we hope all of you will be a part of. All of our golfers and customers are appreciated and we can’t thank you enough for supporting your local, city-owned golf course!
