The Brandon City Council met in a special meeting session at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 12, 2021 at the Council Chambers at 308 S Main Avenue, Brandon, South Dakota. Present were Dana Clark, Barb Fish, David Kull, Jack Parliament and Mayor Jim Heinitz. Others present were: City Administrator, Bryan H. Read; Finance Officer, Christina Smith; City Engineer, Tami Jansma; Golf Course Manager, Andrew Bauer and Park Superintendent, Devin Coughlin. Absent: Vickie David and Tim Jorgenson.

Alderwoman Clark moved and Alderwoman Fish seconded to approve the agenda. Motion carried.

BLOCK PARTY REQUEST

Alderwoman Clark moved Alderman Kull seconded to approve the block party request for the 1200 Block of East Cedar St for July 17, 2021. Motion carried.

BUDGET WORK SESSION

Chuck Parsons, Chairman for the Brandon Development Foundation was present to request $80,000 in the 2022 budget. No formal action was taken.

Amanda Starzl, Chair for the Brandon Valley Area Chamber of Commerce was present to request $75,000 in the 2022 budget. No formal action was taken.

Ryan Solberg, Economic Development Specialist for the Sioux Metro Growth Alliance was present to request $3 per resident in the 2022 budget. They will take the 2020 census numbers when they are released. No formal action was taken.

Discussion was held on the 2022 proposed revenues presented to council. No formal action was taken.

At 6:47 p.m., hearing no further business, the mayor adjourned the meeting.
