BV hosts 15 bands in Big Sioux Review

The Marching Lynx took second in the 67th annual Tri-State Band Festival Saturday in Luverne, Minn., and hosted its own annual invite, the Big Sioux Review.
BV placed second to Lincoln High School in parade and field. The Marching Lynx earned 72 points to Lincoln’s 80.1 in the parade division, and BV had 81.9 in field to Lincoln’s 89.3.
Drum majors Tess Erickson, Lauren Scarbrough and Emily Hensley took best drum major accolades for the fourth time this season.
Fifteen bands from across the region competed Sept. 30 in Brandon’s Big Sioux Review, which featured more than 1,500 students.
“The Big Sioux Review was a huge success,” said Marching Lynx director Chris Borchardt. “Special thanks to the volunteers, band parents and Brandon community for making this show a success.”
Big Sioux Review winners were West Lyon in Class A, Mitchell in Class AA and Sioux Falls Lincoln in Class AAA.
The Marching Lynx will compete Oct. 7 at Sioux Falls before wrapping up the 2017 band season the following Saturday, Oct. 14, at Omaha.
