Brandon library plans Feb. events

There’s a variety of events planned for February at the Brandon and Valley Springs branch libraries. Take a look:

Birth to 5

Preschool Storytime: Tuesdays, Feb. 4, 11, 18, 25 – 10:15-10:45 a.m.: Encourage a love of reading and develop your preschooler’s early learning through stories, rhymes, songs and movements. For ages 3-5.

Toddler Storytime: Wednesdays, Feb. 5, 12, 19, 26 – 10:15-10:40 a.m.: Nurture your toddler’s love of books through music, movement and stories while developing language, motor and social skills. For 2-year-olds and caregivers.

Kids

Kids Create (Valley Springs): Thursday, Feb. 6, 3:15-4 p.m. Explore your creative side through stories, crafts, games and activities.

Tail Waggin’ Tutors: Saturday, Feb. 1 – 10-11 a.m. Book a 15-minute reading session with Dickens or Dino, certified therapy dogs, and strengthen your reading skills. Registration required at least 24 hours.

 

Special Event for Children

Troll Fantasy: Saturday, Feb. 29 – 10:15 a.m.-noon. It’s a morning of trolls and rainbow crafts. Snacks and craft supplies are first come, first serve while supplies last.

Family

Family Makerspace Adventures: Saturday, Feb. 8 & 22 – 10 a.m.-12 noon. Drop in and put your logic, design and building skills to the test.

Adults

Brandon Library Book Club: Thursday, Feb. 6 – 10:30-11:30 a.m. A book club for people who enjoy reading a variety of books. February’s book is In the Garden of Beasts by Erik Larson. In March, club members will discuss Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. Call 582-2390 to request a book.

Young @ Heart Book Club: Tuesday, Feb. 18 – 6:30-7:30 p.m. A book club for adults who enjoy young adult books. Call 582-2390 to request the book.
