Brandon Area Food Pantry keeps doors open amid COVID-19

By:
Staff report
Brandon Area Food Pantry is closely monitoring the situation surrounding COVID-19 and is taking precautionary measures to protect the health and safety of its volunteers and shoppers. BAFP will remain open at this time and continue to distribute food to children, families, seniors and neighbors in need.
For the safety of all, BAFP executive director Linda Weber asks that if you are feeling ill, have a fever or cough, please DO NOT visit the Pantry.
Because of the Pantry’s size and to keep the minimum social distancing recommended by the CDC, those in need of food are asked to call 582-7001 and leave a message. BAFP staff will return messages and schedule shopper appointments.
The Pantry is open 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and will continue to maintain those hours unless changes are needed. The BAFP will also continue to serve anyone that comes through its doors with or without an appointment.
For those who have donations for the BAFP, call and leave a message that you will be bringing it to the Pantry to drop off.
“Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support as we monitor this situation. We will adjust strategies as needed, with the goal of keeping us all safe and healthy moving forward,” Weber said.
